August update -- Posted by systemlord1701 on Friday, August 12 2011 |
Many months have gone by since the last news item has appeared on the front page, and I sought to rectify this immediately. There have been many changes in the Battlefield Division in these past few months with some members going inactive and old friends coming back into the realm of gaming.
With *AUS*BF competing in three Battlefield Bad Company 2 ladders, there is a bit of news to report on in regards to this. Our GA Conquest team placed high enough at the end of a slow season to get into the final, while this is not a huge feat considering at the time there were only twelve or so teams competing in the ladder, we will always welcome a chance to get in a finals draw. On the 11th of May, we went head to head with Clan Ravenous (rV.) on Panama Canal, immediately it turned out to be a very tough game, with a stalemate ensuing with each team having two flags a piece. We managed to cap a third flag which was enough to swing the tide in our favor in the first round. In the second round we pushed hard with our armor and secured three flags just after rollout, which secured the win for us. Our next game in this final series was against Carnage on Laguna Alta, I wasn't present for this game and as such I do not know the details but we had a crushing defeat, although we were happy with our performance with the season.
Now we move to the CyberGamer BC2 ladder, originally planned as our "noob" team, the CG team has performed outstandingly in the past season, sporting eleven wins and two losses we quickly rose to the top ten and have steadily been in the general area of this ten. We wish the best of luck to the new leaders of this team and hope they can live up to the name that they have been given. Finally, the GA Rush ladder was deemed by many in the clan as a successful ladder but a general lack of teams did not help, despite this we have had many good games including one favourite where Pink "Sky Marshall" Floyd lead a team begrudgingly against Team Unknown on a BC2 Vietnam map and despite what we went in thinking won the match on a timer by twenty seconds. It is one of our more memorable experiences in the rush ladder.
In other news, as of late the Project Reality ladder has been revived again and as such the *AUS* PR team has got into gear with the original captain, Sychoshreder leading the team with (ironchef)spook and Elmo147 providing the necessary support as second in commands. We hope to perform well in this ladder as we certainly have the enthusiasm for it. Although things are quiet, we wait in anticipation of the game most members have been waiting on for years, Battlefield 3. It seems surreal that it will be released in two months, so far it is looking good and we will let you know what we think of it the minute it comes out. http://forums.aus-squad.com/images/openbb/smiley/10.gif |
