June/July Update -- Posted by Mr_AussieDevil on Tuesday, August 10 2010 |
So we've successfully negotiated through the coldness and hibernation periods we all endure during the winter months, I know for the majority of us it's spending long hours next to our hot machines to keep us warm. But with these colder months we decided to get a little tournament of our own going on. We started up an in house Company of Heroes 1v1 tournament. At lot of our members enjoy playing this quite a bit and we've had some epic battles with it, so we figured why not make it more fun and see if we can get more people interested in it. So far we've had 5 rounds played, and with a field of mixed skill levels and 8 rounds left the game is still wide open.
Back on the BC2 front we saw the release of yet another update for the game with a change to 2 of the original map game types, Port Valdez - Conquest and Atacama Desert - Rush. We've also been running around in the Games.on.net tournament. There have been 3 rounds to date. Game 1 BushRangers vs Australian Universal Soldiers Result: *AUS* won by forfeit
Game 2 Deathsquad vs Australian Universal Soldiers Result: *AUS* won by 33-0
Game 3 Army of Spartans v Australian Universal Soldiers Result: *AUS* lost by 0-21
We knew this was going to be a tough match and boy was it! This was one of the most exciting matches so far in our BC2 history. It was close, hard fought and we actually heard Camo dish out his thoughts during the 2nd round! However our squad work just was not up to the high level that we know we could of performed at which let us down. A big congrats to AOS for an epic match and we hope we can have some more intense battles like that in the future, but come out on top of course.

And to draw the last 2 months to a close, last weekend saw the 3rd or 4th Adelaide members meet up. The usual suspects were there: Spook, Jay, Skryer, Systemlord, Extractor,'System's brother in Law' and joined by interstate members Dward, Cheek and Davaro. The weekend was an fun filled one of shooting stuff, congrats Dward on the win, and Davaro for stealing his trophy, Poker and drinking.
