*AUS*:LiD vs ACE -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Monday, July 30 2007 |
Last Sunday night the 10v10 *AUS*:LID team defeated ACE by 227 tickets.
As USMC LID played very offensively and our rollout went occording to plan. ACE kept trying to re-take a key flag we captured, and got it grey a few times, but LID held on and thanks to the quick responses from our pilot we were able to win the first round by 101 tickets.
As MEC we decided that we would play very defensively and try to hold they keys flags no matter the cost and hold the line. After repelling a few attacks we started to feel confident for the match win. Good co-ordination by our pilot and armour meant we moved quickly to defend key positions. Our infrantry pushed back many assaults and did well in consistently tracking down their squad leaders and cutting off the opponents spawn points. Second round win by 126 tickets.
Thanks ACE for a fun game. Well done to LID for great teamwork and a final score of 227-0. |
*AUS* vs [S2] -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Monday, July 23 2007 |
Tonight we played the [S2] clan on the Operation Clean Sweep map in a desperate move for the top end of the ladder after recently receiving a letter from the GA admins confirming ladder lock early next Month.
We challenged up so we rolled out as USMC in an attempt to stop the bleed by taking some flags – which worked nicely so the ground assault began. Unfortunately we were cornered into the one flag at airfield and there we suffered a heavy ticket loss trying to keep that last foothold on the island. The round ending with [S2] winning by 57 tickets.
Round two we got some luck with Darkknight cleaning up the enemy jet early and stopping their rollout in its tracks. From there we held the island for most of the round with some isolated flags being lost then retaken as [S2] continued their assault. Eventually Comms fell and we lost our chopper but by then the damage was done and the round ended with *AUS* on top by 89 tickets for an overall win of 32. GG [S2] that was a fun game. Look forward to playing you guys again. |
*AUS*:LiD vs GUN -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Monday, July 23 2007 |
On Sunday night the 10v10 *AUS*:LID team defeated GUN by 187 tickets.
As USMC LID played very offensively and held three out of 4 flags quickly. GUN kept trying to cap our base and got onto the flag a few times but LID held on and thanks to the quick response from our armour squad we were able to win the first round by 78 tickets.
As MEC we decided that we would play very aggressively again and try to push them back , put them on the backfoot, and wait for an opportunity to take their base. After securing a flag within striking distance of their base we waited until our opponents armour went down. Good co-ordination by our armour squad and infantry meant we moved quickly on the US base and were in the flag radius before their armour respawned. After capping their base and stealing their armour we pushed for the cap out and did so winning the round by 109 tickets.
Thanks GUN for a great game. Well done to LID for great teamwork and a final score of 187-0. |
*AUS*:LiD vs UMC -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Tuesday, July 17 2007 |
Monday night the 10v10 *AUS*:LID team were defeated by UMC by 136 tickets.
As USMC LID played very offensively and held three out of 4 flags quickly. We tried to consolidate our position but UMC fought back hard. After we made a few mistakes and UMC capatilised on every opportunity, they clawed back our gains and turned the game around to a round 1 win for UMC 40-0.
As MEC we decided that we play very aggressively and try to push them back , and put them on the backfoot. On our rollout we went left and right but UMC reacted so quickly to our deployment and redirected their main squad to move up our middle and bust into our base. In the first minute we were on the backfoot having to defend our base and UMC kept the pressure on us from all directions. We could not effectively regroup and so we were split up alot and picked off 1 by 1 until the enevitable cap out. 0-96
Thanks UMC for a great game. Hard fought and a deserved win. We learnt some hard lessons playing you guys. See you next time. |
*AUS* vs AEF 1CR -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Sunday, July 15 2007 |
Tonight we played AEF 1st Commando Regiment on the sunburned streets of Mashtuur City. Having a good win in this on numerous occasions in the past including a finals game, AUS was pretty confident going in.
Rolling out as USMC we took our key flags and didnt really push from there. One of them was a flag AEF seemed to value highly and they had to bleed a lot of tickets in deaths trying to get it back but unfortunately for them they were up against some of this clan's finest infantrymen and so were unable to cap it back. First round ending 150 to 0.
As MEC we didnt have as much luck. Securing only 2 flags on the rollout and some fantastic commanding from AEF meant that wherever we pushed for our 3rd we met stiff opposition and weren't able to get much beyond grey flags. However we still won the round depsite the bleed thanks to some good kill death ratios and despite having our tank driver drop out every 15 mins, we took the round by 27 for an overall score of 177 to 0.
Thanks AEF – see you next time.

*AUS*:LiD vs [SS] -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Wednesday, July 11 2007 |
Tuesday night the 10v10 *AUS*:LID team defeated Sharp Shooters 247-0.
Unfortunately SS could not field a full team. They only had 7 players for the first round and 8 for the second. And so we felt confident we could win and push for a cap out. We stuck to the rollouts and once we broke the back of our opponents rollout, we just kept pushing forward until we boxed them into their bases. After that it was just a matter of timing and co-ordination to make a final decisive assault on their base and cap them out. In both rounds SS got a player or two around behind us in an attempt to cap a flag and keep them in the game. Although SS fought hard, we were able to cap all flags in both rounds.
Thanks SS for the game. |
*AUS* v [JW] -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Monday, July 2 2007 |
Tonight *AUS* played [JW] on Mashtuur city and it was good to get a win on the board with the new *AUS* 16v16 team. While many members from our season 2 team remain, new squad leaders and commander has meant that we have had to move through a bit of a transition phase as everyone learns their new roles and our new guys come to grips with competition level gaming.
Anyway as USMC we stormed out of the spawns with a newish strat and were lucky to trench in at the flags we capped and decided to hold out for kills rather than pushing for extra flag caps – good call Ugg, we managed on bleed from kills more than we could have hoped for with a capout at that stage and took the round 139 to 0.
Round 2 we seemed to trip and took use some time before we could get our 3rd flag, which eventually fell at Hill and then the rest of the round played out like the first- *AUS* winning that one by 82 resulting in a 221 ticket win to *AUS*
GG [JW] Good to see some of our ex clan mates still in the game. Catch you next time |
*AUS*:LiD v UBIK -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Monday, July 2 2007 |
Monday night the 10v10 *AUS*:LID team were defeated by UBIK by 30 tickets.
As USMC LID capped the flag we wanted but UBIK's good use of their armour and there strats to pin ours down, meant that it was not to long before we lost that flag and they had the bleed. It was hard work busting out of our base, and even though we succesfully did so a few times, the round ended 0-55.
As MEC we decided that we would go for the cap out, or settle for 3 flags. We were very aggressive and madness and meyhem was the order of the day. We chased UBIK around the map a few times and were in each others bases, blowing assets, stealing armour and we seemed to hold at least 3 flags most of the game, but UBIK made up for it in kills and even though we won the round, 25-0, it was not by enough to win the match.
Thanks UBIK for a great game. Hard fought and a deserved win. Look forward to meeting again on the battlefield. |
