April/May 2010 Update -- Posted by Blood_Raven on Saturday, June 5 2010 |
The period of April/May has been an interesting one for the clan with the various BC2 ladders starting up.
*AUS* entered the GA 8v8 Conquest Tournament as a stepping off point for our transition from BF2 to BC2. We had a bye in the first round and a good win by 70 tickets in the second round. We got heavily into training for our round three clash and felt confident going in. We were in the process of getting smashed with round one looking like we would go down by around 100 tickets or so. But in a stroke of luck we got saved by the EA master server update causing the match to be postponed for a week. So we went back into training to try out some new tactics which paid off when we took down our opponent 73-7 in the rematch! On to the fourth round with a spot in the quarter finals up for grabs, unfortunately we were outclassed and went down by 78 tickets and out of the tournament. But overall the experience was a good one with many positives to be taken.
Towards the end of May and still no sign of the GA ladder opening *AUS* decided to jointhe 4v4 Squad Rush ladder run by Cybergamer with Dward as captain and the Internode 8v8 Conquest ladder was also joined with Pink Floyd as captain. At the time of writing this news the GA ladder had just opened for registrations but with no rules decided on yet the clan is unsure if he GA ladder will be the flagship team or not.
Our relationship with BF2 came to a close with the GS ladder team just missing out on a finals birth despite some late season wins. It is unfortunate that the last two games in both the GS and GA ladders for BF2 were losses but we pride ourselves on maintaining the positive win/loss ratio that we had throughout our participation in the various ladders for BF2. Only time will tell now if BC2 can live up to the legacy of BF2.
*AUS* also welcomed a large number of new members in the last two months who we hope will form the nucleus of a match winning BC2 team. So the future is bright for *AUS* and we are looking forward to many battles in the BC2 ladders over the coming months.
