*AUS* v H*EA*T -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Sunday, May 27 2007 |
Another 7 ticket loss to *AUS*. I hope this isnt going to be a trend for us.... Too and fro the flags went up and down quickly for each team but H*EA*T with the USMC advantage on this map meant H*EA*T held 4 flags a lot longer than we did and took out the round with 55 tickets to spare.
Second round *AUS* pushed hard for 4 flags and took them - we then swapped main flags so both commanders went most of the game without arty, scan or uav support. I made the call for a capout once we reached a point somewhere close to halfway where all but Hill was ours as USMC and my scan showed that stuff all H*EA*T were alive there to defend it.. but we were anable to get up there in time and a helo drop on a back flag meant we were again fighting a two front war. I think we held majority flags for most of the round but we were certainly outkilled - especially by the H*EA*T tank which did a fantastic job - and so we were unable to claw the required tickets off them before we hit the 56 mark.. after that we got a bunch of fast tickets and ended the round 7 short on 48....
GG H*EA*T you guys put up a hell of a fight and were the better team on the night. Close games are always great. |
*AUS* v AvA -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Monday, May 21 2007 |
Last night *AUS* battled AVA in the putrid swaps of Songhau.
After all the stress of our finals campaign last season we took a bit more of a laid back approach to this our first game of the new season and tried to enjoy it.
A ready supply of transport choppers for each side saw many being used as jihad choppers nub ramming armour convoys. It seems the best way to take out mass of APC’s when you don’t have attack choppers… anyway AvA won both rounds with by a comfortable margin although the flags traded hands frequently both rounds. We held four flags then they pushed to hold 4 then we pushed back – and repeat. Both teams made attacks on each others main flag with varying degrees of success. Neither team came too close to a cap out and so the ticket bleeds from flags and kills took AVA to a win by 149 tickets.
Given two flyboy maps im sure AvA threw this map in as a padder to ‘encourage’ us to pick one of the jet maps.. Unfortunately for them (if this was their plan) I has played a 10v10 scrim on this map a week or so ago and actually enjoyed it. So that, along with a desire to be a cheeky bastard, we songhau was picked.
Lag was an issue though. Too many arty rounds I dropped hit tanks that didn’t explode. And reports of people taking tank rounds to the chest and living to tell the tale. I hear that it was a particularly laggy night all round on GA so we wont factor that into the loss = ava lagged as much as we did.
Anyway Kudos on the win AvA Im sure we will meet again many times this season :)
