*AUS* v 3FSJ - Grand Final -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Sunday, April 29 2007 |
2nd place - Game Arena 16v16 Ladder Season 2
3FSJ defeats *AUS* by all of 7 tickets to win the Grand Final.
I call HAX!!!
Nah just kidding. :)
Tonight 16 of *AUS*s HwT team spawned into Karkand to play 3FSJ in the grand final game for season 2. Nerves were as high as they could go. We expected a hard game against the boys from the The 3rd Fallschirmjager clan who have been our primary scrim partner for the season. They know as well and we knew them. It was good that it worked out that our only real ladder game against them was to be the Grand Final game. Fitting that we should meet up here in the end.
*AUS* took a very laid back approach to training for this game. We were going in confident, despite the community backing us for a loss, we knew we could do this.. we just had to prove it to the world. We felt that in the end it would be best to rest our team as much as possible and spawn in fresh on game night.
Anyway no excuse for the loss. 3FSJ put up a fight that we were unable to counter and all their hard work this season paid off with them taking out the ladder. Congrats 3FSJ your a force to be reckoned with for sure.
At this point we would like to thank a number of people:
Firstly all *AUS* members, particularly those that weren’t part of the ‘finals game team’. Many of whom haven’t seen a game in a long time due to us pouring all our energy into securing our finals place and working hard to be there on the Grand Final night. Your sacrifice and help in training helped us more than you can imagine.
Secondly our scrim partners 3FSJ and AvA. Its only by scrimming quality clans could we stay sharp all season. A special thanks to AvA who have been top sports all season.
Thirdly, special mention should go to the officers of this clan who took up the reigns at the start of the season and really changed the clans both in terms of internal structure, policy and evolving the clan from defensive strategies to an attacking clan with itchy feet.
Moving forward, there will be no main focus on any one game or ladder as there has been this season for us with the 16v16 ladder. Instead our efforts will be evenly divided for all the ladders we play in.
We will also introduce to the world our ‘LiD’ 10v10 team under the leadership of Rogue. LiD will enter the GA ladder and make its presence known with a strong team that has been training for many months now.
We will also make a mark on the 2142 ladder with our team under the leadership of SVTwin. 2142 has been sorely neglected this season in *AUS* though we have the numbers to field a team and we look forward to challenges the different game will present.
We are now going to enjoy a rest over the break and not think of anything battlefield related (hopefully) for a few weeks and reintroduce ourselves to some of the games we have long since forgotten in our dusty cd collection.
See you next season. |
*AUS* v H1I - Semi Finals -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Sunday, April 22 2007 |
Semi Finals game against H1I played out tonight on the sunburned streets of Mashtuur city.
After wining our first finals game and scoring the bye for round 2 this was actually only our 2nd finals game, against H1I who had played this map twice already in finals conditions...
Round 1 as MEC we rolled out well. We won the round by 63 tickets but none of them were easy. H1I put up a great defense on every flag we went to cap and made good use of all assets available to them to make our life difficult. We were barely winning our sqad v squad and 1 on 1 fights and were lucky to get through on the ticket bleed from majority flag in our colours.
Round 2 as USMC we were pretty pumped and went in confident. Rollouts were perfect and a good arty from Bullitmagnet right up and we were really steaming along. Again the individual shootouts were close but some great commanding meant we always had the flag bleed. End result for that round was 89 tickets to us.
So the final score was 152 to *AUS*
GG H1I.
On a personal note id like to throw out a HUGE GG to H1I, Binstar, Harry and Momo for working through the technical difficulties at GA with us and making this game happen on the night. GG H1I - much respect guys :)
We practiced hard for this game as we know we were going to have a hard game on our hands against you guys who are by now very very familiar with this map. A big thanks to all *AUS* members for putting in the hard work to get us into the grand final of season 2. It was a team effort, not just by the game team or the 16v16 component of *AUS* Battlefield Division but indeed all members who helped us prac and put their games on hold for us to really put our energies into the finals. Next stop, GRAND FINAL Wish us luck

*AUS* v AvA Finals round 1 -- Posted by Lord_Barra on Tuesday, April 10 2007 |
Ruffies for the win.
*AUS* going in hopeful and confident but also realistically doubtfull against AvA tonight on Dalian plant as the first game of the finals.
As USMC we botched our rollout and only held reactor towers for the majority of the beginning of the game. We eventually got south but then lost reactor and after much fighting around south that flag went down to the Chinese AvA. The rest was pain on the carriers deck until a good jet bail from Rogue allowed us to take over main entrance. And we clawed back a few tickets from the AvA war machine before the round closed off at 143.
Silence in TS as we got organised for another spanking at the end of round 1.
Our rollout went brilliantly however and some great J-10 work and TV’s from the attack chopper stopping the AvA rollout to reactor towers and we grabbed 3 flags we wanted. AvA bottled themselves in at South in a strange mood and our jets and chopper and APC/Tank crews just went to town on the massive blot of red circles under the UAV.
Somewhere in the insanity JBar commented to me ‘hey we can win this’.. i think we were still 180 tickets on the clock but AvA were bleeding heavily and and *AUS* was fired up and watching every ticket. And wow. 148. 5 tickets to *AUS*
Our hardest fought game by far against the undisputed kings of the ladder. *AUS* did well. AvA did well. Close games are always the best. GG
