*AUS* vs AEF:1cr -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Sunday, February 25 2007 |
*AUS* went up against a AEF 1 Commando Regiment on Karkand in defense to defend our 14th spot on the ladder. With 2 former AEF players on our side were keen to make an impression. Round 1 as me we managed to take them out with 75 tickets still on the clock. We did well keeping them out of the city long enough that they bled away their initial USMC ticket advantage.
As USMC we hit the streets hard and took Hotel easily, for some reason Square too a little longer to fall to our assault then we split up for market and Suburbs. Gatehouse was well defend by the T-90 tank but we managed to take it (and AEF's Tank) after we took the train accident flag and used it as a launch pad into gatehouse. Round 2 score was 111 leaving *AUS* with a win of 186.
Nice game AEF, it was good to play with you again and wish you luck with your Season 2. Time to move upwards on the ladder again for AUS.

*AUS* vs HEAT -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Sunday, February 18 2007 |
A very intense game tonight against H*EA*T left the *AUS* clan re evaluating our strat for the Sharqi map despite the fact that we won.
First round we were USMC and with H*EA*T undermanned by 2 players we were probably a little more laid back than we should be and H*EA*T hit us VERY hard. Our chopper went down in the first few seconds and we never saw it again that round. So our infantry did it hard without helo support and we lost by 39 tickets.
Next round as MEC EVERYONE in *AUS* had their game faces on and were worrying a little on what was about to come. Again the chopper was hit in the opening seconds and our rollout looked like it was going down the spout when Rogue*AUS* took his squad into the TV station and grayed the flag. Not sure who knocked their chopper out of the air but as MEC we didnt see it once after that. This meant out chopper could get out and do some damage and the men on the ground were able to cap our H*EA*T with 163 to spare.
Thats our last 2 games on Sharqi that have gone bad as USMC but great as MEC. We need some MEC v MEC maps :) Good work H*EA*T that was great game.
We also scrimmed DC and won a very tight game on Jalalabad. We started as mec and won by about 15 tickets I think and was wondering if we could hold out with the somewhat inferior guns of USMC. As MEC our tank did some tidy work as we essentially 'pubbed it up' and didn't have a real overall strat, just some key flags and some full auto AK 101's.
Round 2 as USMC was where we would win or lose this game. It all went a bit wonky and we lost our Junkyard spawn and had the commander stressing. With some great squad work under the squad leaders of Rogue*AUS* and Lingus*AUS* we somehow, at almost the exact same time, capped junkyard back and took mosque with the enemy controlling the rest. "HOLD" was the call from the commander and so everyone setup camp and absorbed the DC attacks on both flags and we bleed them for the win. only by 5 in round two but that's all that was needed.
A very good game on a good infantry map. Well done DC and "thanks" to the *AUS* boys from the first time commander Barra

*AUS*vs RAAF -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Sunday, February 11 2007 |
Never down for long, though our latest win tonight was a tough one against a known flyboys clan on a flyboys map.
Given the choice of 3 flyboys maps we chose to go Gulf of Oman because we knew =RAAF= had tip top pilots band we didnt want them to use a J-10 against us.
First round as MEC we took a bit of a beating from the flyboys of =RAAF= and lost by 43 tickets. It was all fun and games at our airfield with F35 jets ripping us to pieces and had our chopper, jet pilots and our commander counting down from 15 more times than we would like to admit.
Round two as USMC we knew we would only have a chance of winning if we could keep their jets out of the air, and so Darknight and SVTwin got into a holding pattern over the MEC airfield and ensured nothing down there moved. This freed up the USMC attack chopper and JBar and Barra were able to spend the majority of their time splashing enemy armour and supporting our boys on the ground in the flag radius which won us the round by 71.

Our first loss occurred tonight against Team BnG and breaks our 6 win streak. We did about as good as any team will do at this level as USMC on Dalian plant, losing by only 30 odd tickets we figured we could make the difference easily as China. As China we couldn't take advantage of our superior air support and weren't able to hold flags. Initially we were bleeding them away and were 30 in front with still 120 tickets to play. Pushing too hard for our 3rd flag we lost our more valuable flags and it was all down hill from there. End score was about 60 or 70 points to BNG. Thanks BnG, we look forward to having a go at you again as we get back on our feet push again for the top.

DB chopper wars -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Thursday, February 1 2007 |
Round 3 never happened for the *AUS*flyboys due to our opposition forfeiting, so technically we won the round and earned the maximum points but still we hope to play it eventually so we can submit KDR.
Round 4 was last night and we flew against the chopper crews of the [S2] clan. We had learned some new tricks since our last game (round2) but didnt really get a chance to employ them properly last night. With a few tense moments and some close calls we were in the thick of it again and were playing in the way we know best = up close and personal, dodging TVs with barrel roles and firing them back when we were still upside down.
Gravity also played more of a part than usual when the crews of the [S2] team each a little unlucky and crashed into a mountain during their best to avoid the TV shots from JBar and Bullitmagnet.
We won both round with a total score of 32 to 16.
The *AUS*flyboys gain some more good experience and confidence to take into our GA match this Sunday on the same map against Team BnG.
Onwards and upwards again for *AUS* |
