Sunday night's friendly against *BiA* saw us win 621-485 on Market Garden, in what was generally a close encounter, both clans showcasing some good tactics - fortunately we came out on top in the end! Well done to everyone that came to play, and followed their assignment, also thanks to *BiA* for the match - was great fun.

During the week, Wildcat resigned his position with us, despite only being around for a short amount of time, he stated the duties of school as his reason as well as the new Vietcong division of *AUS* taking up his time. Good luck with them and school mate. However the way you've been posting on our forums, it's like you've never left!

During the week, the 6month anniversary of the division came up, and the occasion was celebrated by recognising a few blokes for promotions, awarding of medals, and changes to the leadership structure that saw DSL move out of the Army and into a clean role of Chief Commander part of all divisions. The creation of the Reservists also took Dropbear out of the Army, and so suddenly the Army is full of new blokes!

Well what a big week it has been in *AUS*, first up on this weeks edition of the Weekly News, our triumph in the friendly versus TOG on the Coral Sea map on Thursday night, Straka reckons the scores were as follows: AUS 0 TOG 15, AUS 0 TOG 22, AUS 128 TOG 0, AUS 119 TOG 0. In what was a scrap of a game for most Army members, the dedication of the Marines shone through as they held us together like glue and led us to a morale-boosting victory that is always welcome. Mentions must go to Clintcom, and Jafo who played especially well despite being Army members and hence the short-notice replacements for the missing Marines. Credit must lie with Straka who as the Marines' commanding officer has clearly showed how well he has trained his men. Well done to all *AUS* members in what is an exciting period of growth and improvement for us all, even to DSL, our division leader, who despite being ready to play/command was forced to sit on the sidelines with a late computer hitch.

In other news, the 1.3 patch arrived, and it resulted in some very unhappy people with a multitude of bugs and general faults. Now knowing that, it is also of due note to mention the arrival of the expansion, Road to Rome, which hit stores during the week. Apparently the patch is SUITED to the expansion, which is bloody useless to those like me who do not yet have the expansion. Its understood however that 1.31 is on the way which is at least some good news.

In clan news, the new division for Vietcong is growing quickly and strongly with a number of VC exclusive members already, despite the demo only being available to this date. The DF and BF divisions are set to have a "friendly" with a game of VC this coming week, and no doubt the inter-division rivalry will be at the fore. Let's hope we see a good clean fight and above the belt, no eye-gauging or scratching

Finally just recapping the other events, Wildcat has been promoted into the division (he is now officially the local division slut being part of DF, BF, and now VC), meanwhile there are 3 new trial members Jarin, Chris, and Thirty-3. Departures include Runaway (busy with work), and Beemaa (AWOL).

There are a few new faces here at *AUS*, those being Jarin who joined on 31/1, Chris on the 31/1 and Thirty-3 4/2. Let's wish them luck in their respective periods of trial to become full members of our community.
Meanwhile there have been a couple of departures, those of Runaway on 2/3 who stated that he is too busy with work, and Beemaa 1/3 who has gone AWOL.
Finally congratulations to Wildcat for successfully passing his trial period to become a vital member of our air force, which is possibly the hardest to get into around here. He starts out with a rank of Pilot Officer, I'm sure he'll compliment Rev and Crumpet well up in the air and all of us cannon fodder on the ground

Well, ST here, and I've been given the job of the news reporter for the *AUS* Battlefield 1942 website. I will be posting weekly news at least. At this stage only news that is related to the *AUS* clan will be posted, and of course all news posted here shall be suitable for public eyes (ie private news goes to the forums!).

If anyone in the clan, or the public for that matter would like news to be known and published on the website, then it is necessary to contact me by ICQ (170559067) and you must tell me what news you would like posted, why you would like the news posted, and finally you must tell me when you would like it posted. That is only 3 simple things I demand and then it's up to me (and perhaps a little consultation with higher officers) if I decide it's worthy enough for news!

Now for some news(that will cover events from the last couple weeks seeing as its the first news report and nothing has happened this week :

The biggest story of late has been our decision to pull from the GA Ladder, the decision has been taken well within the division and the entire clan, however very few questions were asked in the public as to why this occured (and thats private). Meanwhile *AUS* isn't necessarily standing idly by, lots of changes and improvements are occuring around the structure of the division and it's website. All these changes are for the future, to be better than the rest, and to have fun! So for all you prospective clan members out there reading this, don't shy away from trying to join our ranks because we're all happy here, we're all friendly, and most of all we're playing a hell of a lot of Battlefield 1942!


In other news:

The *AUS*MOH division has been disbanded, and the new game Vietcong is set to take it's place as the clan's fourth division after DF, BF, and TC (see *AUS* network). Let's hope the new game's hype can fuel the birth of a new division and not suffer the same fate. Personally I think it will be fine, MOH was an older game with no hype about it with everyone already in a clan.
