CTF vs ASSHATS -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Sunday, December 17 2006 |
CTF Game v .. asshats
Full of hate and malice was the evil witchdoctor that did smite us with a curse of bad JUJU last night on the sun burned streets of Mashy. We had connection problems and disconnects and team speak issues that only presented themselves moments before the game. And so, given NO time to contact our reserves, we bravely pushed out into the streets. Fielding 8, sometimes 9 men in answer to their 10 we took the brunt of a good MEC attack onto our Hill flag and suffered a loss of 4. Capturing only the 1 flag ourselves we knew we had a fight on our hands come round two.
With no time for a 5 min break we leapt out, playing as MEC, and managed to thieve ourselves 3 flags. We were trying hard for our fourth when they took their first (and only) beloved MEC banner for round 2 and dashed all hopes of a draw. Final score 4 to 5.
May the CTF gods smile upon us for our next battle.. |
Match vs Lost Division -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Sunday, December 17 2006 |
GA game vs The Lost Division
A struggle to get enough players and relatively no practice for this game meant that we had a few nervous *AUS* squad leaders hastily organising troops and kits as the seconds counted away on the timer at the beginning of round 1.
As MEC we rolled out in our usual fashion and braced for impact that invariably rolls down the main road into Karkand. Unfortunately we weren’t able to stop a squad of Lost Division players taking the Hotel and so the fight for Karkand began. Control traded hands many times as we bounced back and forth from key flags however we managed to hold out the round and won with a score somewhere around 20.
Round two as USMC was where *AUS* won the game. A good rollout for all squads and more than a little luck meant that we could take some key flags early and begin our assault into Karkand. The Lost Division boys did well and so we never looked like capping them out, but we did hold enough of the key flags to bleed their score away with around 110 tickets still on our pockets.
Score - 130 to 0 GG to The Lost Division, we hope to see you again soon.
A win in our first game is a great way to begin Season 2 and so look forward to the season opening up again after the Xmas break. |

The guns have been silent of late, the clan grows, the 2142 ladder will start soon and already scrims are being organized for the new game.
Season 1 of the GA ladder is over, in stride with some disruptions to the season and significant internal shakeups, *AUS* came through in the 31st position. We are confident we will do significantly better next season and eagerly wait the first game starting in only a few weeks.
The gamespace ladder is also down at end of season, unfortunately *AUS* didn’t have the time to play the required game prerequisites to rank in this ladder but we comfortably won most games that we played.
The CTF ladder was disrupted by technical problems with the XGN servers. As a result it was restarted. It seems fewer clans signed up along with *AUS* for the restarted ladder but those that did seem to be the more active teams. We look forward to making our presence felt there once again |
