CTF match VS JW -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Friday, October 27 2006 |
Wednesday the 25th of October saw us challenge the Jungle Wraiths in the Capture The Flag ladder for the 2nd place on the ladder.
It didn’t surprise us that this would be a hard match, but what did surprise us was that 3 of there members were ex *AUS* members… this just had grudge match written all over it.
On the start of round one both teams came out fighting hard over the middle ground to get a foot hold closer to the enemy base. Various strats were used to try and crack each others defenses, but alas both sides were defending very well. The breakthrough came in the dying minutes of the first round with *AUS* capturing the one and only flag for the round to lead 1-0 going into the half time break.
The second round started out much the same as the first. Until finally the *AUS* boys found a weak spot in the defenses of the Jungle Wraith boys and used it to there advantage capping 2 quick flags. It was looking very good for us until about 5 minutes out JW managed to cap our flag bringing the scores back to 2-1.
In the dying seconds of the round Darknight managed to steal there flag but unfortunately ran out of time to claim another cap.
The final scores being 3-1. This was by no means an easy match and a congratulations to JW on an excellent game.

Match vs 3FSJ -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Sunday, October 22 2006 |
Sunday the 22nd was a night of all out warfare on Mashtuur City. The GA ladder match was a rematch against the 3FSJ boys (and girls.. if there are any). This was an opportunity for some payback from last time we met. The game went off without a hitch. Flags were hard fought over and it was a really intense match with both rounds nearly running the full 30 mins. With some refinements to the strat and some hard work we got one up on them and won 19-6 in the end. Some awesome squad work and brilliant tanking got us over the line.
After the 2 rounds there was not much in it with the boy(s) from Aus scrapping in for a victory. A very well done to 3FSJ for being such a good adversary and a congratulations to both teams for there final results in the GA ladder.
We hope that all GA ladder teams have a good off season and we will see you back here next year to do it all again. |
Sunday showdown vs SMAK -- Posted by bullitmagnet on Monday, October 16 2006 |
Not a lot has been posted on our GA ladder matches as there was our massive break due to the lovely 1.3 patch, but things have been getting back into gear and challenges have been coming thick and fast. We have managed to play a few ladder matches since the nice folk at EA decided to fix up some problems for us, some have been good results and others not so good. But nevertheless we are looking forward to more victories like the one on Sunday night.
After a shaky week and some major changes Sunday the 15th rolled around. Tonight was the night of our GA ladder match against [SMAK]. Coming off a few recent losses in the GA ladder our nerves were high and everyone was keen to fight.
The match took place on the dusty streets of Karkand with us playing in defence as MEC for the first round. We tried a new revised strat which is highly aggressive. Which saw us more as the attacking side than defence. Some great work by steric and camo to keep the right side of the map clear of enemy and darky and whitey for defence on the river side. Snifferdawg did a fantastic job as tank operator to pick up the stragglers that got through. All in all a top job all round which gave us a 95-0 lead going into attack
The 2nd round saw us as the US army. This round was a much closer round than the first and was much more nail biting. We hit hotel in force and managed to secure it without much trouble with gemi and sniffer in armour as support for the ground troops we pushed onto square which we also capped getting the market flag however seen one of the biggest fire fights of the GA ladder no team wanted the other to have that flag and in the end it was *AUS* victorious in both capping the flag and outkilling the enemy 66-0.
The final score being 161-0. The [SMAK] boys must be commended on a very well played match |
